What the pros check first.
Use kitchen & bath silicone
Choose 100% silicone labelled for kitchens and bathrooms, with mould resistance. Let the old joint dry completely before applying the new bead.
Size the fan by room area
A common rule of thumb is about 1 CFM per square foot of bathroom floor for standard ceiling heights. Bigger rooms and high ceilings need more.
Check for a nearby outlet
Electric bidet seats and LED mirrors need power close by. Non-electric bidet attachments don't.

Do bidet attachments fit every toilet?
Most fit standard two-piece toilets with removable seats. Some one-piece and skirted designs may not, so check the product's compatibility notes.
Can I recaulk a tub myself?
Yes. Remove all old caulk, clean and dry the joint, tape both edges, apply the new bead and smooth it, then pull the tape. Allow the full cure time before showering.
Is replacing a bathroom fan DIY-friendly?
Replacing a fan with one of the same size is manageable if you're comfortable with basic wiring and the breaker is off. New ductwork is a bigger job.
